North Little Rock is its own city with its own trees, and they aren't quite the same as the ones across the river. The neighborhoods north of the Arkansas were largely built out between the 1920s and the 1960s, which means the canopy over Park Hill, Lakewood, and Argenta is now seventy to a hundred years old. That's a beautiful thing to live under and a genuinely different maintenance problem from a subdivision planted in 2005.

Park Hill, Lakewood, Argenta and the downtown historic district, Levy, Rose City, Amboy, Indian Hills, Baring Cross, McCain, and out toward the Sherwood line. If you're inside the North Little Rock city limits we cover you, and we don't charge differently for crossing the river — a stump in Lakewood is priced the same as a stump in Hillcrest.
Park Hill and Lakewood in particular are full of mature hardwoods planted when the neighborhoods went in. Trees that size are past the stage where light pruning does much — what they need is honest structural assessment. A ninety-year-old water oak with a co-dominant trunk and a crack at the union is a different conversation from a twenty-year-old maple, and it's a conversation worth having before an ice storm has it for you.
Closer to the Arkansas River and through parts of Rose City and Baring Cross, the ground holds water differently than the clay up on the hills. Saturated soil is what turns a healthy-looking lean into a root-plate failure during a spring storm, and it's why we pay close attention to soil heaving on the uphill side of a leaning tree here.
Older platting means smaller setbacks, alleys, and service drops running through the canopy. A lot of north-side removals are technical not because the tree is enormous but because there's nowhere for it to go. That's a crew-and-rigging problem, not a chainsaw problem — and it's the main thing that separates a real quote from a cheap one.
Pricing is the same across the metro — we don't run a separate North Little Rock rate. Rough ranges:

North Little Rock is a separate municipality from Little Rock, so the ordinances we cover in our Little Rock tree permit guide are not automatically the ones that apply to you. The general shape is the same — a homeowner taking down a tree in their own yard is usually free to do so, while trees in the public right-of-way belong to the city and construction projects can bring their own requirements. But if your job involves the strip between sidewalk and street, a building permit, or an HOA, check with the City of North Little Rock rather than assuming Little Rock's rules carry over.
